Every so often the Hemlocks get together to fire their Civil War weapons with live ammunition.  This gives the modern day Civil War soldier an even better feel for what it must have been like in combat.

Preparing to man the Coehorn mortar, an infantry support weapon used in the later part of the war.Pointing the Coehorn - it looks crude but an experienced gunner can be amazingly accurate!The Company Mess - toothdullers for all!
Live ammunition has some Recoil!
